A Lifetime of Knockouts
New Book of Boxing Interviews TKO’s the Sport’s Bad Press

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – This has been going on forever. Sweat dripping, cuts ripped across faces, bleeding lips, eyes are already swelling shut, round ten and the two stand true. Then one fighter fakes left, throws right and sends a jab singing into the other man’s chin spinning him half way around. He falls to the mat, defeated, out cold. The bleeding warrior raises his arms, bruised and battered, in elation as the crowd’s cheers absorb into his mind, a soundtrack for memory.

It is this glory and guts of boxing that is celebrated in Boxing Interviews of a Lifetime (now available through 1stBooks Library) by “Bad” Brad Berkwitt.

Berkwitt has spent three years compiling his copious interviews from the world of boxing. Going around the boxing world, Berkwitt has interviewed boxers, famous fighters both male and female, referees, announcers and even some celebrities. Everyone in Boxing Interviews of a Lifetime is heard in their own words. No one is misquoted and all are positive endorsements and secret peeks into the world of boxing from the people that really love the sport. Boxing Interviews of a Lifetime takes the reader behind the ropes, in the ring and out. Each interview is a slice of true boxing life. It also details Berkwitt’s mission to set up a retirement fund for fighters “who have fought their hearts out and…have nothing to show for it”.

Whether you are pro or amateur, aficionado or enthusiast, put on the gloves, hop in the ring and go a couple of rounds with Boxing Interviews of a Lifetime.

“Bad” Brad Berkwitt was born in the 1960’s. A native New Yorker, his passion for boxing began in the 1970’s through his late father Alvin Berkwitt. Together they watched many classic bouts on TV. In the 1980’s, Berkwitt boxed as an amateur. His last fight was in 1983, a fight which he won. “It was my greatest triumph in the ring when, in the second round, I dropped him with an overhand right,” Berkwitt recalls. In 1986, he joined the Navy. He has traveled around the world, from Sicily to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Seoul, South Korea. He is a 16-year veteran who served in the Gulf War. His success as a boxing interviewer is rooted in his principles: honesty and a positive approach. He currently is the managing editor for www.boxingtime.com and has done TV and radio as an expert boxing analyst. While serving in Seoul, the Korean Boxing Commission along with the magazine CrossCounter recognized him as a “true star” due to his positive coverage of the sport. Boxing Interviews of a Lifetime is his first book.
