(MAY 20) Oneida Nation Homelands—As the eyes of the boxing world turn to Central New York for the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s Induction Weekend, the Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone Casino Resort offers a night of quality fights. The first bell on Friday, June 6 will sound at 7:30 p.m.

The main event is a 10-round lightweight match featuring world contender Angel Manfredy (41-6-1, 30 KOs) of Hobart, Ind. and John Bailey (21-10-2, 13 KOs) of New Cumberland, Ohio. Manfredy is ranked in the top 10 by both the IBF and WBA.

In another highly-anticipated battle, Rochester’s Robert “Push Up” Frazier (27-5-2) faces Quandray Robertson (13-5) of Portland, Ore. The junior middleweight combatants are scheduled for eight rounds.

Promising pugilist Jason Bouvouso of Utica puts his impressive 5-1 record on the line against a yet-to-be-named junior welterweight opponent.

In a women’s welterweight match, Amy Burton (3-2-1) of Syracuse is signed up for four rounds against Bonnie Weary (3-3) of Cleveland, Ohio.

Tickets are priced at $35, $50 and $75, and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Showroom box office at 361-SHOW or (877) 833-SHOW Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are also available at any Ticketmaster location or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Hall of Fame Boxing at Turning Stone -- being held in conjunction with Michael Acri Boxing Promotions -- is among more than 20 events planned in the area to celebrate the International Boxing Hall of Fame Weekend, culminating with the Class of 2003 induction ceremony on Sunday, June 8 on the museum grounds in Canastota.
